Cloning Humans: The Key to Everlasting Life?

            With the fact technology has improved from day to day, scientist surprisingly discovered the way to clone. We can do cloning with human, animal, and plant. So what is clone?

Clone is the way to duplicate or copy but according to the biology word it means that an exact copy of an animal or plant that has the same DNA as the original animal or plant, because it was produced from one cell of that animal or plant (Longman Dictionary). Relating to the topic, we can be aware that cloning humans is the reproductive cloning of a sentient human being; generally considered ethically unacceptable and it also means like human reproductive cloning (thefreedictionary.com). On the other hand, everlasting means to last forever for a long time (Cambridge Dictionary). So let’s combine the word together. Everlasting life or also known as eternal life means that the endless existence uninterrupted by death (encyclopedia). According to the explanation above, we will figure it out. Is cloning humans the key to everlasting life?

            For me I think cloning humans is not the key to everlasting life. I have four main reasons to support my argument. Why do I say like that?  The first reason is that technology of cloning is still uncertain, hence cloning could not help people yet even contribute to the everlasting life (Wise Geek). Until now we cannot clarity clearly that scientist can clone human successfully or not. Scientist cannot solve everything. Eventually, it is not legal to clone yet and one scientist said that people cannot live for long time due to the age of the cells used in the cloning process. As have done some research, some people stated that cloning should not happen to human since it is very dangerous. Moreover, as I watched one video, which explained about the reaction of cloning, people that cloned would born in an unbelievable appearance like two people have the body combine together especially could appear as a disabled person. Thus, I can see that they are living in a very difficult situation. So that is the result of cloning humans, it can harm people in many different ways. Another example to prove is that, even the queen of England name Diana also doesn’t believe in cloning humans is the key to everlasting. Keep in mind; if we do that, it could cripple our life that is why it is not the way to everlasting life even the queen does not believe in that.

            The second reason is that cloning humans can cause to lose variety of gene (Oracle think quest). Generally, people survive on the earth depend on their variety gene which come from their parents who are likely to have different set of gene. More importantly, cloning human is just like a copy of the exact gene, thereby it would decrease in variety of gene. With cloning, it always appears in dangerous outcome even for the animal or plant. For instance, like dolly the sheep was the first female mammal that had been cloned from adult cell. After a few years she died which cause by cloning. So cloning could not help people even for animal. Therefore, it is not the way to everlasting life.

            My third reason is that it could be great a disaster and lead to extinction because cloning is like copying the whole body with the same thing (Oracle think quest). So the entire body of the other people that get cloned could be at risk of infect by the same pathogen. Even for the people that have the same gene, it still cannot defend against the same kind of disaster. So cloning could be the term of spreading a pathogen. Another negative point is that cloning is inbreeding, so if we have the same genotype and keep reproducing, it could harm and spread the virus to each other as well. According to some survey, people said that cloning human could be possible but it cost a lot of money. In contrast, just imagine that if cloning human is the key to everlasting life so king, billionaire or other rich people would clone to be everlasting, which could not die and live forever. Again, cloning humans is not the key to everlasting life.

            The fourth reason and the most important point is that in the natural of human, no one can live forever. Depend on the buddhis religious, which Cambodia obey and follow, stated that we cannot say for sure when we will die. We cannot predict the future. Even all us do not know what will happen tomorrow. According to the Khmer doctrine, it pointed out clearly that every people cannot escape from the death. Life of human is to be born, old, sick and die at the end. So we can see clearly that cloning could not help people to have the everlasting life.

            Altogether, so far so good from the introduction to the conclusion we can figure it out clearly. Is cloning humans the key to everlasting life? Depend on my four main reasons which described that because of technology are still uncertain, lose variety of gene, lead to extinction, and natural of human, i could hold a firm belief and stand on the argument that cloning human is not the key to everlasting life.  If so everybody could clone even me. Beside of this every coin usually comes up with two sides that is why cloning also has some advantages but the main point is that it still harm to human. Consequently, some people said that if you clone, u will emulate god. Scientists are playing god if they clone humans. So what do you think about it?
